Stories in Seven - January

In 2014, I had the pleasure to meet several new photographers through a storytelling photography group on Facebook. One of those talented ladies suggested a blog circle for the new year, focusing on documentary photography. So this year, I'll be posting seven images on the 7th of each month, the goal being to not only tell a story through these seven pictures, but also to have each image be a strong stand-alone storytelling image.

I thought this would be a fun project since this year will prove to be a busy year for my family... we've accepted a post that will see our family move to Nigeria this fall! An international move with a family of six is bound to produce many, many stories.

This month's images were taken at our annual Christmas Eve visit to daddy's work to see Santa. It was Eloise's first time meeting him and, although we don't really "do" Santa other than a really fun part of Christmas, she was SO excited to meet him.

I'm really excited for this blog circle and to see what the other ladies come up with each month. Please visit Kari Wattenbarger Photography next.

Amy, beautiful storytelling as usual! I love the shot of your little guy holding on to dad's hands and their watches beside each other, analog vs. digital. So poignant!

These are so fantastic! I love your processing and the second to last image is just precious. I can feel her anticipation to see Santa.
