Stories In Seven - March

07.March.2015

Valentine's Day this year was on a Saturday. It's always fun when these little holidays land on a weekend so that Peter can enjoy them with us. This year, we got an absolute dump of snow that morning in Ottawa, so he and the boys were outside clearing the driveway while Eloise "helped" me make waffles and whipped cream. In other words, she stuck her fingers in the batter, came close to burning herself, and waiting impatiently to be able to lick off the whisk.

She took her job very seriously.

She was all decked out in her pinkest, most heart-covered finery... and had also helped pick out my clothes for the day (not pictured!). Speaking of which, have you all seen that story of the mom who let her preschooler pick out her clothes for an entire week (or longer)?? Eloise would LOVE that... but I don't think I'm that brave!

Making belgium waffles one at a time for a family of six requires a fair bit of time. It's a commitment. If my kids ever question my love, I'll just remind them of all the times I made them waffles growing up...

Yummy! These are great and love the POV in these!

  • I want that waffle iron! Not that I would ever use it, because I'm too lazy to clean it, but still it's awesome! And did are those m&ms on those waffles?! Seriously, if I ever find myself in your area of the world, I'm coming over for breakfast.

These photos are gorgeous and those waffles and their toppings are impressive. Glad my kids aren't up and over my shoulder right now as they would realize they are seriously getting jipped!!!!
